THE SENATOR CLARK HOUSE

The William A. Clark house, commissioned by

Senator Clark of Montana, a “copper king,” was

on the northeast corner of 77th Street and 5th Avenue.

Labor was completed in 1904, a building made mostly

of white granite, and said to contain 130 rooms.  The

structure was demolished twenty-three years after it

had been build.
